8 News Now: WWII, Korean War veterans return from Honor Flight.
October 29th, 2017

LAS VEGAS – 27 local veterans are back from Washington, D.C. as part of the Honor Flight program.

Friends and family welcomed their veterans home on Sunday after they spent the last three days in the nation’s capital.

21 World War II veterans and six Korean War veterans got the chance to visit the memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifices they made for our country.

Honor Flight Southern Nevada says the group visited different sites this weekend and laid a wreath at Arlington Ceremony.

The organization says it makes these trips to give veterans closure and affirmation about what their service meant to our country.

Veterans say were in awe of the gift.

“This greeting I can’t express enough emotion that was caused by the greeting and the people that came to it. I’m just lost for words, to be honest with you,” said Frank Duca, WWII veteran.

This was Honor Flight Southern Nevada’s 10th trip to Washington, D.C.
