A group of Coral Academy students is at the helm of a new business program and they’re looking to expand their reach to students throughout the Las Vegas valley.
“We really need financial literacy for our teens,” said Coral Academy of Science tenth-grader, Rachel Martin.
Martin and her business club classmates didn’t wait around for the school, state, or country to develop a program for them. They started one on their own! Using funds from the Youth Neighborhood Association Partnership (YNAPP) Program, students created a free five-week essentials program.
Emerald Island Casino co-owner Tim Brooks remembers where he was 20 years ago this week.
“We were running around like a chicken without a head getting ready to open,” he said.
Brooks and co-owner — and twin brother — Mike bought the Pot O’Gold Casino in 2001 and the pair spent the next year and a half, and about $2 million, renovating the closed casino in downtown Henderson’s Historic Water Street District.
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – Audrina Chai said she was feeling stuck in life when she knew she wanted a change.
“I felt like I wanted to help people, but financially it wasn’t really affordable until I went to Google, and found Goodwill,” Chai said.
She described Goodwill of Southern Nevada’s one-of-a-kind “training to hire” programs to 8 News Now.
Las Vegas(KLAS)-National Cleaning Week is underway, and Roqui Theus stopped by Goodwill of Southern Nevada’s flagship store to talk about decluttering and donating this season.
