(Henderson, Nev.) – Fisher Industries recently donated $500 to the Annual “Run for Shelter” 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk being held on November 22, 2014. Funds raised through this event will go towards assisting victims of domestic violence in our community.

“We are proud to donate to the S.A.F.E. House Run for Shelter 5K,” says Joe Miller, the Nevada Area Manager for Fisher Industries. “Domestic violence is a significant issue in our community that is often not talked about, so we are glad to help contribute to raising awareness and assisting local victims who have suffered from violent and abusive homes.”

The “Run for Shelter” 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk is one of S.A.F.E. House’s largest events. For the past 20 years, S.A.F.E. House has been dedicated to stopping abuse in the family environment while raising awareness about the impact of domestic violence.

Julie Proctor, Executive Director of S.A.F.E. We would like to thank them for this generous contribution, it will truly make a difference in our organization and community.”

Proceeds from the event will be used for emergency shelter, counseling, and advocacy for local victims from violent and abusive homes.
