The Henderson Historical Society (HHS) will host its “Henderson Speaks” event “Politics: Nothing New Under the Sun (or the Review-Journal)” on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 6 p.m. at the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) Henderson campus.

The lecture panel will feature the following presenters: Michael Green, associate professor of history at UNLV; Geoff Schumacher, director of content for the Mob Museum; and John L. Smith, author, commentator for KNPR and former columnist for the Las Vegas Review Journal. The lecture panel’s moderator will be Mark Hall-Patton, who is an author and museum administrator for the Clark County Museum, and is regularly seen on the History Channel’s “Pawn Stars” as a visiting expert.

The event will include lively stories shared by the three esteemed speakers on indicted politicians, recalled city council members and mayors, and politicians who have made significant improvements in Southern Nevada. The discussion will be capped with a question and answer period where the audience is encouraged to engage with the speakers.
