Henderson Professional Fire Fighters (HPFF) teamed up with the Henderson Firefighter Benevolent Association (HFBA) to raise approximately $3,500 to donate to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Firefighters sold “Go Pink for the Cure” t-shirts within the organization and to community members last month. Henderson firefighters are wearing the shirts on duty throughout the month of October to show their support and to help raise awareness.
The Henderson Mayor and City Council proclaimed October 20, 2015 “Go Pink for the Cure Day” to recognize the organizations’ efforts. HPFF President Dan Pentkowski, Fire Chief Steve Goble and HFBA Board Member Zach Davis were present to accept the proclamation.
“It’s a great feeling when the community comes together to help support such a significant cause,” said Pentkowski. “We are proud to stand with those bravely fighting breast cancer and it is our privilege to make this donation. We thank the mayor and council for their support in our efforts and are honored to be recognized.”
