(LAS VEGAS) – Joseph Miller, Fisher Industries Nevada Area Manager, and Mike Scronce, Fisher Industries Nevada Operations Manager, were recently recognized as “Honorary Playmakers” by the Clark County Department of Family Services for their generous donation and service for the KaBOOM! community-built playground project at Childhaven.

This new, kid-inspired playground was built to benefit the children at Childhaven through the service and donations of the Las Vegas business community. The playground needed additional supplies, expertise, and tools due to its unique construction, which was outside of the scope of an ordinary playground build. Fisher Industries’ Joe Miller and Mike Scronce played a vital role in the completion of the construction on this project.

Joe Miller was inspired by the project and says, “Fisher Industries is proud to give back to our community through this donation and our service. Childhaven is an exceptional organization that benefits the most vulnerable population, children in need, and we are honored to be part of this unique project.”

Mike Scronce, who also received recognition for the projects, goes on to say, “We did not expect to receive such a recognition, but are truly grateful to be named ‘Honorary Playmakers’ for this partnership. It is our hope that this playground and our contributions will make a positive difference in the lives of the children of Childhaven.”

Since 1909, Childhaven has been a safe and nurturing place for children. From its earliest days as one of Seattle’s first child care centers for working mothers to its position today as a national leader in caring for abused and neglected children, Childhaven has healed old hurts, nurtured young lives, and empowered families to break the cycle of abuse and neglect and create lifelong loving relationships.
