Increasing its standing as a leader in development and production of Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries, K2 Energy announced the release of its newest line of marine batteries. K2 unveiled the first battery in the series, the Extreme Angler, and plans to release two additional batteries, the Lake Master and Pro Series, later this year. These trolling motor batteries will set a new standard for marine batteries, and provide a better choice for fishing hobbyists and professionals.

With the ability to run some trolling motors for up to three days on one charge, K2 has engineered a smarter battery that packs more run time at approximately one-third the weight of a common marine battery. Boasting a cycle life 10-times greater than a traditional battery, K2’s batteries don’t have to be replaced as often and are virtually maintenance free, losing only 2 percent of charged capacity per month versus approximately 20 percent per month with a traditional battery. And, each of the batteries in this line comes complete with a user interface indicating remaining power available.

Those interested in purchasing an Extreme Angler battery should preorder as soon as possible, as demand for available inventories will be strong during initial production and release. For more information and to preorder now, visit www.K2Battery.com.

“Pro fishermen are asking for better batteries,” said Cameron DeVries, K2 Energy Business Development Manager. “We are answering them with batteries that are lightweight, last longer and are more environmentally responsible.”

The technology used in K2’s batteries results in a safer, cleaner and more reliable product than conventional batteries. Sports enthusiasts will no longer have to worry about acid leaking out of the battery, which could damage critical electrical components on a vessel. And with a substantially increased cycle life, users can rely on their batteries for much longer. Increased capacity means they can also use them without charging as frequently.

“We’ve been testing this battery with pro bass fisherman for a while now,” said DeVries, “Their feedback has been great, and we are pleased with the final results. It’s exciting to be able to offer this product to the public, and we hope our battery will enhance the sport enjoyed by so many.”

K2 Energy was founded in the growing technology hub of Henderson, Nevada in 2006, and is a leading developer and producer of Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries, which are used in many advanced medical and military applications and for powering electric vehicles. The company produces energy battery cells and power battery cells, which have a multitude of consumer, product, safety, and environmental benefits compared to traditional lead acid batteries. K2 has received multiple awards recognizing its business and technical achievements—including Small Business Administration-Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) awards.
