When the first ChiAm Dim Sum debuted in September, Mayor Carolyn Goodman and Mayor Pro Tem Steve Ross were on hand to to cut the ribbon. Now, the local concept begins its very ambitious plan to dominate the fast casual Chinese dining scene and have begun work on their second Las Vegas location.

Created by the operators of Henderson’s East Ocean Dim Sum & Seafood, the second ChiAm will take over a shuttered Smashburger and former Tacos Los Toritos at the outdoor Charleston Festival mini-mall across the street from the College of Southern Nevada. This had been the home for the ninth Las Vegas Smashburger and had been serving for less than a year.

The 1,965-square-foot ChiAm will offer mix and match portions of dim sum and an MSG-free menu including Siu Mai pork, chicken, shrimp or beef with dipping sauces, Dynasty Mongolian Beef, Dragon Kung Pao chicken, spare ribs, noodles, spring rolls and hot and sour soup. They promote their dishes as only containing “organic vegetables, free range chicken, and all natural and hormone-free flank steak.”

Still planned, 14 additional locations in Nevada, including Centennial, Anthem, Green Valley, the Strip and Summerlin, plus eight in Arizona and 20 more in California, including Beverly Hills, San Francisco and Sacramento.
