For the second year, Las Vegas Firefighters Local 1285 will be showing their support of the fight against Breast Cancer by selling “Breast Cancer Awareness” shirts to their membership and the public. All proceeds will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

T-shirts sell for $20.00, and are available in men’s short and long sleeve styles (up to 3XL) and women’s sizes (up to 2XL). They can be purchased online at www.heroic.supply throughout September and October.

Scott Johnson, president of Las Vegas Firefighters Local 1285, said, “Last year, our firefighters and community came together, sported their shirts and donated more than $8,000 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. This year, we’re dedicating our campaign to Audrey Diaz, a former Fox 5 associate, who was our friend and strong supporter of our cause while fighting breast cancer herself. She lost her battle earlier this year and we want to donate as much as we can to the Komen Foundation in her honor, so we encourage everyone to buy a shirt and help us win this fight together.”

The Southern Nevada Affiliate of Susan G. Komen® is dedicated to combating breast cancer at every front. Up to 75 percent of the affiliate’s net income goes toward funding grants to local hospitals and community organizations that provide breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment programs for medically underserved women. The remaining net income (a minimum of 25 percent) supports the national Komen Grants Program, which funds groundbreaking breast cancer research, meritorious awards and educational and scientific programs around the world.
