Nevada Business Magazine: Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas Prepares for Upcoming Nevada Girls Math Tournament.
May 14th, 2021

LAS VEGAS – Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas (CASLV) is happy to announce the statewide 2021 Nevada Girls Math Tournament (NGMT). This year’s event will take place virtually starting May 12th at 8 a.m. and finishing May 18th at 8 p.m. This year’s NGMT is part of a joint collaboration with CASLV, Coral Academy of Science, Reno, RootSTEM Academy, and Northern Nevada Math Club (NNVMath) to promote interest in the field of mathematics among female students in State of Nevada.

“We are very proud to be a partner for the 2021 Nevada Girls Night Tournament,” said Ercan Aydogdu, executive director for CASLV. “We have been organizing this unique and wonderful event since 2016. The faculty at Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas have always valued the importance of STEM participation and competition for all of our students, but this tournament gives all Nevada female students an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities and success. We could not be more proud.”

Registration is free and available to all elementary, middle, and high school-aged girls currently in grades 1-12. Students from public, charter, private, or home schools in Nevada are encouraged to participate.

This event will consist of an online general individual round. The test will include 25 questions and should be completed in one hour.

Once students are registered, detailed information about the tests and proctoring will be emailed to parents. Proctors for the tests can be a parent, guardian, or adult over the age of 18 living with the student. Individual winners will earn medals and certificates.

Registration, sample problems, and more information about the tournament can be found at nnvmath.org.
