The Las Vegas Firefighters (Local 1285) has donated $2,500 to the “Fire Hurts…Red Cross Helps” campaign. This donation will support the efforts of the Southern Nevada chapter of the American Red Cross to help families recover after a house fire.

“The impact that a house fire can have on an individual’s or family’s livelihood is tremendous,” said Las Vegas Firefighters President Scott Johnson. “We are proud to contribute to a cause that will help provide stability to families in our community who have had their whole world turned upside down.”

The campaign is the result of the efforts of the American Red Cross and Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada and is funded solely by donations. This year, the organizations hope to raise $350,000 to continue to assist members of the Southern Nevada community who have been affected by house fires.
