(PAHRUMP, NV.) – In May 2014, the Pahrump Valley Professional Fire Fighters (PVPFF) presented a graduating high school student with a $1,000 scholarship. This education-based donation is part of an annual effort for the firefighters to further education in their community. This is the fifth year the PVPFF has awarded this scholarship.
Hannah Lane of Pahrump Valley High School was the recipient of the $1,000 scholarship. Lane is planning to attend Brigham Young University (BYU) in Idaho, pursuing a degree in the field of biochemistry. Her ultimate goal is to become a dental surgeon.

This scholarship will help with tuition and books and is presented annually to students with high academic involvement and scholastic achievements.

Dustin Knutson of the PVPFF presented the scholarship check and says, “We are proud to give back to the youth in our community by helping to fund their education. The firefighters selected Hannah due to her hard work and commitment, and we are glad to assist her in her college path.”
