Henderson and Las Vegas firefighters, as well as the American Red Cross, join together to help spread the word about water safety and stress the importance of the A,B,C&Ds of drowning prevention.

(Henderson, NV) – On June 17, 2014 at the Henderson City Council Meeting, Tronox received a special commendation from members of the Mayor and Council for their donation of Arbor Day school calendars, which showcase environmentally friendly focused drawings submitted by local students. The calendars are sponsored by Tronox Henderson plant in partnership with the city of Henderson Arbor Day Foundation.

It started last month with our local Raley’s Supermarket asking shoppers to buy discounted stuffed bears at the check-out register to comfort children involved in a disaster or emergency. The community generously responded with donations that purchased small stuffed animals that can be carried on our local fire-rescue ambulances and larger ones that can be distributed at the hospital emergency department. Raley’s Store Director, Mike Mazza, was able to acquire over 40 stuffed animals through customer donations, but Mike needed help finding a way to get them into the small hands and hearts that needed them the most.
