FROM THE RECORD-COURIER
It started last month with our local Raley’s Supermarket asking shoppers to buy discounted stuffed bears at the check-out register to comfort children involved in a disaster or emergency. The community generously responded with donations that purchased small stuffed animals that can be carried on our local fire-rescue ambulances and larger ones that can be distributed at the hospital emergency department. Raley’s Store Director, Mike Mazza, was able to acquire over 40 stuffed animals through customer donations, but Mike needed help finding a way to get them into the small hands and hearts that needed them the most.
