(Henderson, NV) – Tronox will be holding a company blood drive on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at their Henderson plant to encourage employees to donate blood to benefit the United Blood Services.
Last year, nearly 20 employees of Tronox joined in the cause to donate blood, and also encouraged friends and family to do the same. They donated approximately 20 pints during their summer blood drive, and hosted another drive in the fall.
Christopher Thimes, Safety Coordinator at Tronox and organizer of the drive, was glad to see so many employees participate as part of their efforts to give back to the community and maintain corporate wellness.
Thimes says, “This is a great cause, as many people do not realize that there is always a shortage of certain blood types. This is just one of many community projects that Tronox participates in throughout the year, and I look forward to maintaining this as a regular charitable event for our Henderson plant.”
