(RENO, NV.) – On October 24, 2014 at the Lakeridge Golf Course and the Dayton Valley Golf Course, the Truckee Meadows Professional Fire Fighters (TMPFF), Local 3895, will hold a golf tournament to benefit the Winchester family.

The TMPFF proceeds raised will go to support Captain Bill Winchester and his family. He is a captain fire fighter of Local 3895. Captain Winchester was severely injured on September 5th while on a road-bike training ride in South Reno.

President of the TMPFF, Joe Schum, says, “Bill Winchester was a Truckee Meadows Fire Department Captain, athlete, family man, and all-around awesome guy. We hope that through this tournament we can help his current situation by raising money to support his recovery and his family.”

There will be 48 people allowed at each golf course—twelve foursomes, if the maximum number of participants is reached for teams. Individuals not on a team will be placed in open slots the day of the tournament.

The event begins at 8:00 a.m. at the Lakeridge Golf Course (1218 Golf Club Dr, Reno, NV 89519) and 9:00 a.m. at the Dayton Valley Golf Course (101 Palmer Dr, Dayton, NV 89403). Raffle prizes will be awarded post game, and they will have donation boxes for people who would like to donate additional funds.

Please RSVP for the event by emailing sfenley@tmfpd.us with team reservations, or individual sign-ups.

For more information, please contact TMPFF President Joe Schum at 775-233-7704. If you would like to donate and cannot make it to the tournament, please visit http://helpthewinchesters.weebly.com/donate.html.
