The Henderson Professional Firefighters (HPFF), in conjunction with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), brought out their boots to collect donations at the Galleria at Sunset today.
Henderson and Las Vegas firefighters, as well as the American Red Cross, join together to help spread the word about water safety and stress the importance of the A,B,C&Ds of drowning prevention.
Jeff Mann was hired by the Henderson Fire Department in 1989. Throughout his twenty year career, Jeff was assigned to rescues, engines companies, and truck companies. He remained a well respected senior firefighter who was committed to the community and the success of his team and the department. His last day on the job was February 2, 2009. Twenty five days later he would lose his life to cancer. Jeff was the first firefighter to lose his life on the job at the Henderson Fire Department. Throughout his short battle he embodied courage and love for the people he worked with.

Fifty percent of the proceeds will benefit the BCRF, and the other half will go to the Henderson Firefighters Benevolent Association (HFBA), which benefits other local nonprofit organizations in the community.

The drive serves to benefit research and local services for the Southern Nevada Chapter of the MDA. The Henderson Professional Fire Fighters will be collecting donations on May 16, 17, and 23 at the following Henderson storefront locations:
